Do you remember how is the student life? When the biggest preoccupation is to do well al math’s exercises?
When the biggest preoccupation was how to dress for some saturday party?
I spent my adolescence during nineties and I miss the music of those days.
So near to grunge but so rock and garage, at same time.

Try Me by So Young is an album full of nineties sounds that come from Lush and all female rock tradition. It is a jump in the past, and a wish for the future: now we are adults but full of energy as this alt-rock that come from UK.
We are more young now, because we are also free to decide what to do, where to stay, with who to spend your gritties days.

This is the sensation that you can feel listening to the new Ep, Strange Gold, of Wildfront: it is a stormy rain of tears, a quickly running through a gate toward an hidden garden.
This dreampop with a strong influence from eighties music (Cocteau Twins and all masterpieces of the shoegaze) give us moments of dreamy confusion that allow us to wake up from a grey long sleeping.

The music of italian band Telespash remembers me that, over my horizon, a lovely place made of waves, salt and of sunset exists and, meantime that I fight against the snow, it lives without me and is is waiting for me, this summer.
Telesplash’s sounds are not something alternative or really new but are nice, saline, between pop and electropop.
You can connect “Non e’ piu’ poesia” with nineties italian music, crammed of pop icons and (could I tell this without malice?) mainstream.
It so easy to connect these tracks with Negrita‘s melodies and we like to think that this kind of music doesn’t set never.

>> REVIEW // indietronica, electrobeats :: T0W3RS

T0W3RS‘ s music is a dive in the past, with slow sounds, electronic melodies, made of sweet electrobeats, soft hip hop temptations, some allusion to psychedelic – Instillation – and to indietronica, and a lot of emphaty.

In these days I am under a snow storm. It is cold and during the day, the sun is vague a shy, hidden behind clouds and ice. ON the background you can see the castle, white, static, alone and surrounded to fog as in a sweater.
This image can looks as sad but when you stop yourself in the street, and you are tired to run everywhere, this image is peace for your soul.
The music of Former New York Mayor band, creates, with the ep ‘ep 1‘, a rift in the time, a place in which you stay only with your soul, listening sweet folk (?) pop, melancholic indie, drinking hot tea, watching over the window.
EP 1 is slow, kindly, an indie – pop near to The Beta Band and, maybe, The Durutti Column but more near to us, with an attitude less divine but more friendly.

One of the best thing that you can see in a place where I was born ( south Italy) is to see a panorama of italian countryside when a storm is coming. The sadness of sky is in contradiction with the brightness of wheat’s fields, and you find this extreme contradiction also in countryside of Hungary and in the lovely and heart breaking noise-pop of Gleemer band, that come from Colorado.

The newest ep ‘ No Goodbyes ‘ is made of 4 tracks alt-rock, noise-pop and, sometimes, grunge. Inside you can find all misery of Stone Roses, the desperation of Seattle school but also something sweet and soft from nineties alt-rock.
This mix of indie-rock and shoegaze works really well because is not dark as the shoegaze can be and, at same time, is not aggressive as the indie-rock.
The cover of this ep is bright, dynamic but not rough, nor aggressive, nor ordinary.
These 4 tracks are like a sun after a lot of days of snow, they are like to watch the face of your partner and find inside all you past life, with all your friends, smiles, tears, parents, pictures, night spent out, quick cars, melted make-up in a disco, a cup of milk in front of your favourite movie.

Is it necessary to find something really original for to love it?
I think no, and when I find a new ep garage-rock I listen to these with passion, as ever.

I like this genre, because is not artificial, is young, ever fresh and remember me that also if I don’t see the sun, it is behind the fog and continues to smile.

Gorgeous Bully is an artist who ha published one year ago a nice ep with the title “Nobody Hates You As Much As You Hate Yourself “, for Art is Hard Records.

The ep is cool, fast, wild, rich of influence from garage-rock bands that come from East Coast.
Five track made of memories from Best Coast, September Girls and, why not, The Drums (but more lof-fi).
Every track is particular, catching and lovely.

Different is the material that Gorgeous Bully has used for create the new track “dumb ideals” (free download on Soundcloud) that discloses how will be the next release by him that will come soon.

This track looks like more clean and slowly nostalgic, but anyway garage-rock (with less lo-fi).

But Gorgeous Bully fascinates us however and we are impatient to discover how will be the next release and discover what is hidden inside the shells that this music calls to mind.
