Poco tempo fa un uomo si è trasferito lì con la moglie e ha scoperto che la cantina della sua casa era infestata da centinaia di topi.
Io odio i topi.
C’erano topi enormi, con occhi di bambino, che si muovevano lentamente.
Una volta ho visto un gatto, corporatura robusta, pelo leccato, color pelle di capitone sotto l’acqua.
Quando sua moglie dovette recarsi qualche giorno in visita da certi parenti, l’uomo andò a comprarsi una rivoltella calibro 38 e un bel po’ di cartucce.
E comunque io non lo so mica che colore è pelle di capitone sotto l’acqua.
Poi scese nella cantina infestata dai topi e cominciò a prenderli a pistolettate.
Si era accoccolato sul ciglio del naviglio. Toh, guarda, un gattone, avevo pensato. È tutto bagnato, poverino…, avevo pensato come secondo pensiero.
L’uomo si avvicinò a un topo intento a mangiarsi un amico e gli puntò la pistola alla testa. Il topo non si scompose e continuò a mangiare come se niente fosse.
Guarda che groppa…, avevo pensato come terzo pensiero.
Quando il cane della pistola si alzò con un clic, il topo smise un attimo di sgranocchiare e—
Smisi di avvicinarmi al quarto pensiero perché pensai, Gesù se sei brutto.
—diede uno sguardo con la coda dell’occhio prima alla pistola e poi all’uomo. Era una specie di sguardo amichevole, come per dire: “Da giovane mia madre cantava come Deanna Durbin”.
L’uomo premette il grilletto.
Non aveva alcun senso dell’umorismo.
Cacchio, che topo.
